Darlene Young
Hello! If I were going to take myself really seriously as a Poet with Things on My Mind (picture me gazing off to the horizon, brow furrowed), I would write a very formal little bio here in third person. But I don't, and I'm not, so I won't. I WILL tell you that my body is middle-aged, though my sense of the world is still that of a bewildered fourteen-year-old, for the most part. A fourteen-year-old whose been through a few things, but still. Sometimes I try to grow up a little by making myself get down in words what it is I see. Maybe you'll find some of those words, or the experiences they describe, familiar. That's my hope, anyway--that somehow we'll find a place where we overlap, so that we know we're sharing this world together. I write to feel less lonely in the world, so I hope you'll join me. As to the formal stuff, let's just say I live with a very supportive husband, a cat, and a rotating cast of grown boys in the suburbs of Salt Lake City, Utah, where I practice at Mormonism, motherhood, writing, and a few other things (like yoga) that I'm not very good at. I hope you find something you like here. If you do, drop me a line.
